Final Selection of Photographs

To go alongside my Liquid Emulsion prints I was originally going to do a set of wooden versions however they didn't work so I decided to select a range of my best macro photographs to edit and print to present in the exhibition. I originally chose 8 but I managed to narrow it down to these 6 which I think are perfect examples of nature and the world around us.

More Liquid Emulsion Experimentation

I decided to do more Liquid Emulsion experimentations to give myself a wider variety of samples to analyse and critique. I feel that they came out fairly well however not as well as the previous ones I have done. I might possibly do this experiment again using a different type of fabric which could possibly be thicker meaning the photographs would come out a bit clearer.

Materials

I'd realised that I hadn't put much thought into which materials I was going to use, instead I just went straight ahead and used wood and fabric. After thinking a bit more about it I decided that fabric would look quite effective with my nature photography on it as it'll have a natural/rustic looking effect which is what I'd been hoping to achieve. I will continue to experiment with Liquid Emulsion and Screen Printing on different types of fabric to see what works the best so I can overall create pieces I am happy with.

Screen Printing Experimentation

Although my Liquid Emulsion experiments went well I still decided that I wanted to experiment with Screen Printing to see if the alternative process would work better. I am happy with the way they have come out however I feel that they're not as realistic as the Liquid Emulsion pieces, I will do more sampling and experimentations which both mediums to help me towards a final decision.

Liquid Emulsion Experimentation

I made a contact sheet with a selection of what I considered my best macro photographs, I then printed it onto acetate and cut it up to use as film strips. I printed them onto normal photographic paper and I was happy with the results so I decided to experiment with liquid emulsion to see how that would work. I printed a few of my photographs onto wood and I was very pleased with the results I achieved which is why I will go on to using liquid emulsion on fabric to help me practice how I will create my final pieces.

Seaside Macro Shoot

I decided that I wanted to gather more of a variety of nature photographs in different locations other than woodland/forested areas. I went to Burnham-on-Sea and walked down onto the beach to photograph anything interesting I could find. I took some close up macro photographs of small shells and pieces of seaweed along with wider photographs of sand patterns and the landscape surrounding the beach. I found this really helpful as it has given me a much wider variety of natural photographs to choose from.

Goblin Combe Macro Shoots

These photographs are selected from three different photoshoots I did at Goblin Combe, I originally went to photograph the Bluebells and other natural details I could find however there weren't many Bluebells out at the time so I decided to go back a week later but still had the same problem. The final time I went back a couple weeks after that, there was a beautiful sea of Bluebells spread out underneath the trees which provided the perfect opportunity to use the 50mm macro lens.
